Proverbs 24:10-12If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?
Children are murdered near your home
Will you be like the priest or the Levite, or will you render aid, showing love to your neighbor? How do you rescue someone being taken away to death? Imagine you live in Nazi Germany, and Jews are about to be taken away to death. What does the LORD require of you?
You Must Act
If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?
Would we only pray to end hunger?
Clearly, God expects us to feed the hungry, and clothe the poor. We cannot only pray to end hunger. In fact, restricting our options to prayer is disobedient. We have been told to go beyond prayer, and to act in the service and love of our neighbors.
Why do Christians cower before the state and refuse to defend the fatherless from the bloodthirsty child-sacrfice industry? Why do we only pray to end child-sacrifice? Just like feeding the hungry, isn't there more we can do?
What if those crazy Christians who believe the bible actually were crazy enough to obey the bible?
